A 45-year-old man was struck by a van and killed early Monday on westbound Jericho Turnpike in Dix Hills, Suffolk County police said.

The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The crash occurred at 4:20 a.m. east of East Deer Park Road, police said. The man was walking on Jericho when he was struck by a 2009 Ford van.

The driver, who remained at the scene, was not charged.

The accident closed Jericho Turnpike for several hours between Elwood Road and Warner Road, as well as East Deer Park Road between the Northern State Parkway and Jericho Turnpike, police said.

The roads were all reopened before 10 a.m.
