Pedestrian struck, road closed in West Babylon

Westbound Sunrise Highway has been closed in West Babylon for a police investigation, after a car struck a pedestrian early Tuesday morning.

Suffolk County police have not released any information regarding the victim. The road is a divided highway — and closed to pedestrian traffic.

Police said the accident occurred at 2:32 a.m. near Hubbard’s Path. It was not immediately clear how long the road would remain closed.
