A person was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday night on Nicolls Road in Holtsville, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the unidentified victim was struck in the southbound lanes shortly before 7 p.m. and died at the scene.

Southbound Nicolls Road was closed between the Long Island Expressway and Furrows Road. The eastbound LIE off ramp onto Nicolls Road was also closed.

No other information was immediately available.
