Police arrest man suspected in East Farmingdale bank heist
A Wantagh man was arrested Thursday on a charge of attempting to rob a Chase bank in East Farmingdale earlier this week, Suffolk County police said.
Jonathan Levin, 35, was placed under surveillance and then arrested after the Pattern Crime Unit reviewed video and obtained his description from witnesses, police said in a statement.
Levin was charged with attempted robbery and will be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
Just before 1 p.m. Tuesday, police said a man authorities now identify as Levin entered the bank, at 1745 Broad Hollow Road, and demanded cash from a teller who did not comply. The suspect fled on foot through the parking lot, police said.
