A worker at a Nesconset bagel store broke into the business through a side door last month and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, Suffolk County police said Tuesday.

Police said Mantas Lukosevicius, 17, entered the Bagel Cafe, at 248 Smithtown Blvd., through a side door at about 12:30 a.m. May 27. He then forced open an office door and stole a "large amount of cash," police said.

As a part-time employee of the store, Lukosevicius "was familiar with the location of the secured cash," police said in a news release.

Fourth Squad detectives arrested Lukosevicius at his residence at 2540 Motor Pkwy. in Ronkonkoma at 11:55 p.m. Monday, on a charge of third-degree burglary.

Lukosevicius was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
