A bicyclist was seriously injured Friday night in Holtsville after he was struck by a car on the Long Island Expressway south service road, Suffolk police said.

Police said the eastbound bicyclist was struck shortly after 10 p.m. west of Morris Avenue. The unidentified victim was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital.

The driver of the Hyundai sedan remained at the scene.

Further details were not immediately available, police said.
