A mulch fire near a sports entertainment complex on Route 112 in Medford ended without significant damage or injury Tuesday, Suffolk County police and fire officials said.

The fire was reported in a 911 call at 12:50 a.m., police said.

Fire officials said volunteers from Medford, Coram and Holtsville handled the call -- and said no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.

Officials said the fire occurred at a mulch lot near the Country Fair Entertainment Park. Crews were still dousing the smoldering mulch throughout Tuesday morning.
