The child was with his mother when he ran out onto Granny Road near Mill Road and was hit by an Acura traveling east about 5:30 p.m., police said.

The driver, Santa Mosquea, 32, of Medford, stayed at the scene and was not injured, police said. The Acura was impounded for a safety check, police said.
