A Farmingville woman and her two sons sustained minor injuries after they were attacked by the family dog Tuesday, a pit bull named Zen, Suffolk County police said.

Cassandra Cosgriff, 50, called police from her Vista View Drive home at about 10:22 p.m., reporting that the dog had bitten her and her two sons, both in their 20s, a police spokeswoman said.

The three were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with minor injuries; the dog was sent to Brookhaven Animal Shelter & Adoption Center, police said.
