Police: Driver hurt in crash with mail truck in Lindenhurst

A woman was transported to a hospital with minor injuries after police said her car crashed into an unoccupied U.S. Postal Service truck Tuesday morning in Lindenhurst.
The driver, whose identity was not released, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.
Suffolk County police said the woman was driving on West Hoffman Avenue when her Acura struck the back of the unoccupied mail truck at about 10:30 a.m., sending it crashing into a utility pole. The driver was not charged.
