A 25-year-old man was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with unknown injuries after Riverhead Town police said his 2004 Jeep Cherokee left the road on Route 25 in Calverton late Sunday, flipping over and trapping him inside.

The crash occurred at 11:15 p.m.

Police said that after being extricated by members of the Riverhead Fire Department the driver was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital by a crew from Riverhead Ambulance.

The identity of the driver was not released.

His condition was not immediately known.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call detectives at 631-727-4500, ext. 302.
