Police said a driver filled a van with gas Monday in North Babylon, then fled the station without paying the $91 tab.

State Police said Christopher Bullock, 22, of Doncaster Avenue in West Islip, was arrested after he left the USA gas station on Bay Shore Road without paying for his fill-up at 10:10 a.m. Monday.

He was charged with petty larceny and traffic violations, including having an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license and switched license plates.

Police said Bullock filled the white Dodge van with $91 worth of gas, then left.

Police said an attendant followed him and a trooper stopped Bullock on the Wantagh Parkway not far from the Southern State Parkway in Wantagh.

Arraignment information was not immediately available.

Regular gas was averaging about $3.85 a gallon in Suffolk on Wednesday.
