Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and East Hampton Town police are looking for a man who logged into a social network of a burglary victim using a laptop computer stolen in late July, officials said in a crime alert released Tuesday.

On July 29, one or more burglars broke into a house on Three Mile Harbor Drive in East Hampton, taking several items, including laptop computers.

Later, police said, a man logged on a social network account belonging to a victim. Police have released a photograph of the person captured by a webcam after he logged onto the social network.

"At this point, it is unclear if one or more persons committed the burglary," said Det. Lt. Christopher Anderson of the East Hampton Town Police.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers, 800-220-8477. All callers will remain anonymous.
