A clerk at a Hampton Bays beverage shop faces charges of selling alcohol to a minor after State Police conducted an underage drinking sting Monday.

In a news release, State Police said Christopher Worrell, 22, of 9 S. Peninsula Ave., Southampton, sold a can of Four Loko, a malt beverage, to an underage female at Hampton Beverage on East Montauk Highway.

Police said the initiative is designed to "identify establishments that sell alcoholic beverages to those under 21 years of age."

Worrell is charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sale of alcohol to a minor, police said. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Southampton Court on Dec. 1.
