Police: Holbook man discharges weapon in Riverhead hotel room

A Holbrook man who discharged his weapon in a Riverhead hotel room on Christmas Day faces charges of criminal mischief and prohibited use of a firearm, Riverhead Town Police said.
Police responding to the Hyatt Place Hotel, 451 E. Main St., at 10:45 a.m. on a 911 call said that Neal Shudak, 58, discharged his loaded firearm inside the room in which he was staying.
He was arrested on charges of fourth-degree criminal mischief and prohibited use of a firearm, police said Friday.
His arraignment information was not immediately available.
