Nicholas LoBianco, 25-year-old homeless man, was arrested Tuesday after police said he attempted to rob prescription drugs from a Rite Aid pharmacy in Shirley on Montauk Highway. Credit: SCPD

A 25-year-old homeless man has been arrested after police said he attempted to rob prescription drugs from a Shirley pharmacy on Tuesday.

Suffolk County police said Nicholas LoBianco walked into the Rite Aid pharmacy on Montauk Highway at 3:40 p.m. and handed an employee a threatening note demanding prescription drugs. Police said LoBianco fled before the employee could comply.

LoBianco was arrested at a nearby motel a short time later, police said. He was charged with third-degree attempted robbery. Police said LoBianco is homeless.

LoBianco was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Central Islip.
