Police: Homeless man tried to rob pharmacy

A 25-year-old homeless man has been arrested after police said he attempted to rob prescription drugs from a Shirley pharmacy on Tuesday.
Suffolk County police said Nicholas LoBianco walked into the Rite Aid pharmacy on Montauk Highway at 3:40 p.m. and handed an employee a threatening note demanding prescription drugs. Police said LoBianco fled before the employee could comply.
LoBianco was arrested at a nearby motel a short time later, police said. He was charged with third-degree attempted robbery. Police said LoBianco is homeless.
LoBianco was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Central Islip.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
