A human skull was found Saturday afternoon in a wooded area of Ronkonkoma, Suffolk police said.

A bicyclist discovered the skull and remains in the woods off Express Drive North at about 12:15 p.m., police said.

Authorities said the remains had been in the woods for a long time and have not been identified.

Police have not determined whether a homicide occurred.
