Police identify body found in waters off Montauk as local man

East Hampton Town Police said a body found Friday in the waters off Montauk has been identified as a 57-year-old man.

Julio Tubatan of Montauk was found floating in Montauk Harbor near the U.S. Coast Guard station at 7:23 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office, police said.

The investigation into the death is continuing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call East Hampton police at (631) 537-7575.
