A man killed crossing a street in Copiague Tuesday morning has been identified by police as Volodymr Pylyp, 44.

Suffolk County police said the Copiague man was hit by a 2009 Chevy van being driven by Craig Smith south on Great Neck Road. The van struck Pylyp as he crossed the street just north of Campagnoli Avenue at 11:58 a.m., police said.

Pylyp was pronounced dead at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.

No charges have been filed. Police said the investigation is continuing.
