East Hampton Town police are investigating an industrial accident involving a man who was seriously injured and airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

The accident occurred Friday at 10:28 a.m. at Riverhead Building Supply's storage supply yard, 1 Cove Hollow Rd., East Hampton, police said.

A customer was injured by falling Sheetrock, which was stacked in the warehouse, said John Callahan, company president. The customer was accompanied by an employee, who was not injured, Callahan said.

The company is cooperating with the police investigation, he said.
