Police are investigating a shots-fired incident late Wednesday night at a North Amityville apartment complex where at least one vehicle was struck by gunfire.

Suffolk County police said the vehicle was parked and unoccupied and that there were no reported injuries. The incident occurred at the Cloverdale Garden Apartments, on Great Neck Road just south of the Southern State Parkway, and was reported by "several" 911 callers at 10:44 p.m., police said Thursday.

Those callers all reported hearing gunshots, police said.

Police said they believe all the callers were reporting the same incident, but they are investigating whether there were additional related incidents Wednesday.

Police said shell casings were recovered at the scene, but did not say how many -- or what caliber. Police said the vehicle was struck "by one or more bullets" and was impounded for inspection.

There are no suspects.
