Police investigate attempted robbery at Huntington Station gas station
Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a gas station Wednesday morning in Huntington Station.
Suffolk County police said the incident at the Mobil gas station at the corner of Jericho Turnpike and Route 110 took place at about 9:50 a.m.
The suspect approached a station attendant, police said, displayed a weapon and demanded cash. However, police said the suspect fled without any proceeds. The type of weapon involved was not immediately clear.
Police said the incident is part of an active investigation.
