Suffolk County's hate crimes unit is investigating an incident in which someone threw a jar of nails into the driveway of a Huntington mosque Wednesday night, police said.

About 8:50 p.m., an unknown person or people threw a large jar of nails into the parking lot driveway of Masjid Noor Mosque, 1032 Park Ave., police said.

No other damage to the building or vehicles in the parking lot was reported, police said.

Calls to the mosque were not immediately returned Thursday.
