Southampton Town Police said Thursday they are still trying to determine who left Ku Klux Klan recruitment fliers on two vehicles in Hampton Bays about two weeks ago.

The fliers were placed on vehicles, one parked on School Street and the other on Gardenia Avenue, between Halloween night, and the morning of Sunday, Nov. 1, Lt. Susan Ralph said.

"No new leads," Ralph said Thursday. "The fliers list a website and a phone number."

Ralph said the owners of the vehicles came into police headquarters with the fliers; there have been no more reports of the fliers since the first two.

"If anyone gets one of these, we'd like to be contacted so we can keep track of how many are being distributed and where," Ralph said.

Detectives working the case ask anyone with information to call 631-728-5000 or the department's crime-tip hotline, at 631-728-3454.

Since summer 2014, Long Island residents have reported dozens of KKK pamphlets appearing outside homes in Hampton Bays, Shirley and West Babylon. In yet another instance, a Hampton Bays man received a conditional release after being charged with illegally posting KKK fliers at a Hampton Bays bank in April.
