A man robbed the TD Bank branch on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley Monday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

The man entered the bank at 1:37 p.m. and "displayed a note that demanded cash and threatened violence," police said in a news release.

"The teller complied with the man's demands and the man fled on foot southbound on William Floyd Parkway," the release said.

Police said the man was 6 feet tall, 25 to 30 years old and of medium build. He was wearing sunglasses and an orange sweatshirt over a black, hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-8477.
