Police investigate Tuesday night robberies in Suffolk

Suffolk County police are trying to determine whether three South Shore gas-station robberies within a three-hour span late Tuesday are related, a spokeswoman said.

The stations robbed included a Valero on Montauk Highway in East Moriches at 7:45 p.m.; a Stop and Fuel at 1171 W. Sunrise Highway Service Rd. in Bay Shore at 10:37 p.m.; and a Gulf station at 201 Sunrise Hwy. in Copiague at 10:50 p.m.

In the last two robberies a gun was used, said the spokeswoman, who did not immediately have other details.
