Crime Stoppers and Third Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a woman fell from her bicycle, seriously injuring herself, as she rode along Commack Road in Islip last month, Suffolk County police said Monday.

Police said the woman, about 5-feet, 3-inches tall with a small build and brown, curly hair, was returning from the beach when she fell at about 4:50 p.m. on June 21.

She lost consciousness and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she remains in "guarded condition," police said in a news release.

The woman was riding a blue-green bicycle and carrying a blue-and-white beach chair with shoulder straps, according to the release.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
