A Bay Shore man faces a felony charge for driving while under the influence of drugs after he was stopped Tuesday night for driving erratically on the Southern State Parkway in North Amityville, State Police said.

Jason Aquino, 28, of 102A Railroad Plaza, was driving a black Toyota west on the parkway near Exit 32, Route 110, at 8:45 p.m. when troopers saw him changing lanes unsafely, failing to signal and following cars too closely, according to a report.

As troopers interviewed Aquino, they said he had watery, glassy eyes and poor motor coordination. Troopers said they saw an empty prescription bottle for oxycodone, a painkiller, on the front passenger seat.

Aquino, who failed sobriety tests, was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, a felony because he has a previous conviction, and other traffic violations, according to the report.

Arraignment information was not immediately available.
