Police: Man found shot in car in Bellport

Suffolk County police are trying to determine who shot a man early Thursday in North Bellport.

A department spokeswoman said a 52-year-old man had a gunshot wound in his back when police found him sitting in a car in front of a house on the 600 block of Provost Avenue at 4:43 a.m.

Police said the man was taken to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
