Police: Man shot in Amityville

Suffolk police are investigating a shooting that wounded a man in Amityville on Sunday.
A police spokeswoman said the department received a report of shots fired on Avon Drive about 7:10 p.m.
Police said a man was shot and transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A police spokeswoman said the case remained under investigation and no further information was available about a possible suspect or motive.
