Police: Man shot on Tuesday on Wyandanch street

A daylight shooting Tuesday on a street in Wyandanch left one man hospitalized with what police are calling "non-life-threatening" wounds.
Suffolk County police said the shooting occurred at Little East Neck Road and Lincoln Avenue at 4:55 p.m. The victim, identified only as a 24-year-old man, was shot in the leg and back.
Police said the identity of the shooter is "unknown" -- and details were still emerging on Wednesday. It was not clear if evidence was recovered.
Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
