Police: Man stole tip jar in Riverhead

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Riverhead police are looking for a man who took a tip jar from the counter of a specialty grocery store in Riverhead in April.

Suffolk County police on Wednesday released photographs of the suspect, who on April 24 took the tip jar from the counter of the Mexico Lindo store at 713 E. Main St. in Riverhead.

The man entered the store at about 10:15 a.m., police said, and the tip jar contained about $80.

Police said the suspect then left the store and fled in an unknown direction.
