Police: Man who plowed into Nesconset carport faces DWI charge
A Centereach man who drove his car off the road and into the driveway of a home in Nesconset on Thursday night, crashing into a parked vehicle and a carport, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, Suffolk police said.
The incident occurred on Pierson Street at 10:16 p.m.
Arrested was Juan Acosta, 23, charged with DWI.
Police said Acosta was driving northbound on Brooks Avenue when he "failed to negotiate a curve" -- and drove his car into the driveway of the house on Pierson, crashing into the parked car and carport.
No one was injured and, police said, the main structure of the home was not damaged.
Acosta faces arraignment Friday in First District Court in Central Islip.
