A motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries after a collision Tuesday morning with a tractor trailer on Kroemer Avenue in Riverhead, police said.

Riverhead Town police said the crash occurred at 6:22 a.m. just north of Route 25 and the railroad tracks.

The identity of the motorcyclist was not released.

Police said the motorcyclist was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center. The condition was unknown.

Police said there were no charges filed.

A photo from the scene showed the mangled motorcycle on its side, on the ground, behind the tractor trailer.

The Long Island Rail Road said the accident did not affect train service.
