Life-threatening injury in Middle Island bus crash, police say

Police are investigating a crash involving a bus and a car Friday afternoon in Middle Island that left a passenger in the car with life-threatening injuries, police said.
Two other occupants in the car were seriously injured, police said.
There were no serious injuries on bus, operated by Rides Unlimited of Nassau and Suffolk, which transports disabled passengers.
An undisclosed number of bus riders had to be extricated after the crash at the intersection of Rocky Point and Whiskey roads at 3:50 p.m., Suffolk County police said.
Seventh Squad detectives are investigating.
