A duckling rescued from a storm drain is held by Roodly Cadet, a resident in the Heatherwood Community in Ronkonkoma. After police rescued it from a storm drain, Cadet was able to chase it down and helped reunite it with its mother at a nearby lake. (May 24, 2011) Credit: James Carbone

He's one cop who fit the bill.

Suffolk County Police Officer Michael Viruet fished five ducklings out of a storm drain Tuesday morning in Ronkonkoma.

The ducklings fell in about 7:30 a.m. at the Colony Park apartments on Peconic Street.

The officer released the ducklings in a nearby pond, where they were reunited with their mother.
