One person was shot, apparently in the hand, during a home invasion early Monday in Coram, police said.
The victim, one of two occupants, was shot and cut with a knife during a struggle with two suspects, Suffolk County police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Four suspects, all armed, entered the Mill Road home about 12:24 a.m. through an unlocked side door to steal electronic equipment, police said. The two occupants then confronted two of the suspects, police said.
The subsequent 911 call reported someone had suffered a gunshot wound to the hand.
