A pedestrian was hit by a car as he walked on the Sunrise Highway service road in West Babylon on Friday night, Suffolk police said.

The victim, 55, was headed east when a Hyundai struck him about 8:30 p.m. near Hubbards Path, police said.

The pedestrian was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said. His condition was not immediately known, police said.

The driver, 52, was not injured and stayed at the scene, police said. No charges are expected to be filed, police said.

The names of the two men were not released.
