Police: Pedestrian killed by hit-and-run driver in Coram

Suffolk County police are investigating the fatal hit-and-run of a pedestrian in Coram Saturday.
A vehicle struck a male pedestrian walking along northbound Route 112, between Granny Road and Route 25, shortly before 6 a.m., authorities said.
The vehicle fled the scene.
The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The vehicle is believed to be light-colored with front-end damage, police said.
No other information was released.
Route 112 was closed for several hours in both directions from Granny Road to Middle Country Road/ Route 25 for the accident investigation.
