Police probe death of man found in street

Detectives from the Suffolk County police Vehicular Crime Unit are investigating the death of a 24-year-old man whose body was found late Thursday lying in the street on Jefferson Avenue in Brentwood.

Police said the body of Adrian Roberts of Brentwood was found by a passing motorist who called 911 at about 11 p.m.

Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the Suffolk medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death and that detectives are searching for witnesses.
