Frederic Stephens Jr., 20, of East Hampton, had a gunshot wound to his right arm and underwent surgery at Stony Brook University Medical Center, police said Friday.

Police in a news release Friday did not provide details on the shooting or Stephens' condition.

A police spokeswoman said that details of the shooting are not being released.

Police responded to a call at about 8:30 p.m. to a home on Fireplace Road, according to the release.
