Police said a woman stole the pocketbook from the basket of an electric scooter used by her victim to shop at a Walmart earlier this week in Centereach.

But the suspect made anything but a clean getaway, Suffolk County police said, as she was captured on video surveillance that shows her leaving the store -- the stolen bag draped over her shoulder.

The cops even have a video shot of her dark-colored Jeep, police said.

Police are asking the public's help finding the suspect. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest.

Police said the theft took place just after 3:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Walmart at Centereach Mall.

Police said the blonde-haired woman in the photo took the pocketbook from the scooter. She wore sunglasses, a red top and black pants, according to police.

It was not clear if police have been able to verify the license plate number of the Jeep.
