Body recovered from waters off Sound Beach, police say

Suffolk County police recovered a body Saturday afternoon from the waters off Sound Beach.
Police did not immediately identify the victim, who was described only as a male.
Authorities received a 911 call in the morning about a body being washed ashore on a Long Island Sound beach off Hilltop Drive. There was no evidence of criminality, police said.
A Suffolk medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
