Authorities executing a search warrant at a residence on Doctors Path in Riverhead arrested a 23-year-old man Tuesday, charging him with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia with intent to sell.
Riverhead Town police said investigators from the multi-jurisdictional East End Drug Task Force arrested Rakeem Miles at 641 Doctors Path, charging him with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of controlled substance with intent to sell, as well as with fifth-degree and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia -- that being drug scales.
Miles faces arraignment Wednesday in Riverhead Town Justice Court.
Police said authorities recovered crack cocaine and heroin from the scene. It was not immediately clear how much was recovered at the apartment.
The task force includes detectives, officers and other law enforcement personnel from State Police, Suffolk County police, Suffolk Sheriff's Office, Suffolk Department of Probation, Southampton Town and Southampton Village police, East Hampton Town police, Southold Town police, Riverhead police, the DEA, Homeland Security and investigators from the Suffolk district attorney's Office.
Police said the search warrant was the result of an investigation into reported drug sales at the residence.
