Police: Riverhead man shot over $60
A Riverhead man was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, menacing and weapons possession after police said he fired a shot at another man during a Wednesday afternoon altercation over $60 on East Main Street.
William Beisler, 30, of 15 Daly Court, faces charges of second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree menacing and prohibition on the use and possession of a firearm, Riverhead Town police said.
Police said he was arrested by responding officers after the dispute, which occurred at 3:46 p.m.
Police said the complainant, Miguel Rojas Decker, 21, of East Main Street, Riverhead, told officers that he was involved in a dispute with Beisler and Michelle Terrasi, 32, of Doctors Path, Riverhead, over $60. Decker told police that, during the dispute, Beisler pointed a weapon at him -- and fired one shot.
Police said a 20-gauge shotgun was recovered from a vehicle belonging to Terrasi.
Beisler was then arrested.
Neither Terrasi nor Decker was charged.
