Suffolk County police are trying to figure out who stole an aircraft landing gear, worth more than $100,000, from a Bay Shore company.

Police said the Goodrich titanium gear was stolen from Air Industries at 1460 5th Ave. in Bay Shore, sometime between May 30 and June 1.

Police said whoever broke in stole 14 forgings valued at between $3,000 and $9,000 each.

All of the pieces, whose finish resembles brushed aluminum, have serial numbers.

The pieces weigh between 170 and 507 pounds each, police said. Police said the items may have been sold as scrap.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. Callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
