Suffolk County police said a man entered Citibank, 6105 Jericho Turnpike, at 2:15 p.m. and handed the teller a note that demanded cash and said he was armed.

The teller handed over money and the suspect fled in a white sedan, police said. It was not known in what direction he fled.

The suspect is 5 feet 5 inches tall and in his 20s with a thin build, police said. He was wearing a dark bomber jacket, a light-colored shirt underneath the jacket, blue gloves, a black and gray knit hat with a brim, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Detectives ask anyone with information about the robbery to call 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
