Police on Friday asked for the public's help locating a mentally disabled Riverhead man who was reported missing nearly a month ago.

Eric C. Burton, 59, was last seen at about 8 a.m. May 8, 2015, boarding Suffolk County Transit Bus S92 in front of his residence in the 700 block of East Main Street, Riverhead police said in a news release. He was headed for Greenport, police said.

Burton is described as 5-foot-8 and 190 pounds, and he is now bald. Police said he was wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans and a white T-shirt. Police also said he may be in need of medical attention.

Burton "enjoys riding trains" and may have taken a train to Brooklyn, where he has family, police said.

Anyone with information about Burton is asked to contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500.
