Police are searching for a man, believed to be in his 50s, who they said broke into a parochial school in Bay Shore late last year, stealing cash.

The burglary occurred about 12:40 a.m. Oct. 5 at the St. Patrick Parochial School on North Clinton Avenue.

Suffolk County police have released a photograph of the burglar, who they said is in his 50s, has a thin build and very long brown hair pulled back in a ponytail.

Police said the suspect entered the school through an unlocked classroom window, then stole cash from a locked cabinet inside the building.

Police ask anyone with information about the burglary to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
