Police are looking for a couple who robbed an upscale consignment shop in downtown Sag Harbor Tuesday night and threatened an employee at gunpoint.

Sag Harbor and Suffolk police said a man and woman entered The Corner Closet, at 108 Main St., at 5:50 p.m. and showed a handgun to the employee, the only person in the shop at the time. After the pair restrained her in the back of the shop, they stole designer handbags, scarves and "other accessories," police said.

The couple is believed to have left in a late 1990s or early 2000s four-door white domestic sedan, police said.

The shop employee described the man as in his late 20s to early 30s, about 5 feet, 3 inches tall, with brown hair, wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans. The woman was described as approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with brown hair, also in her late 20s to early 30s. She was described as wearing a fuchsia sweater vest over a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

Police, who have released a sketch of the man involved in the crime, are offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls are confidential.
